MEETING 2A RELECTION (techno)

 When I’m still a high school student I heard already about the beautiful places in Davao and one of my goal is to go there someday and luckily my goal comes true. When I first travel to Davao I was a little bit surprised because of the facilities and infrastructures that I saw it was far away from the place that I’ve been. It was in the month of January 2011 when I went to Davao with my uncle and one of my cousins. We came from Bohol because my uncle had a vacation there and fortunately I was given an opportunity to study in college which is I prayed every night. It was really a dream that made me believe that there is always hope that GOD lends us. Indeed at first you will encounter hardship and some sacrifices but it is worth an experience because GOD has always surprises us. Let’s just be patient and let things go on it’s alright to set goals but never push too much because it can lead to disappointments. It was a dream came true to go college because my parents will never sustain my needs, were poor financially but we are blessed with contentment of what we have.

             Davao City is a one of the most developed cities in the country as far as I know many people prefer to live in Davao because of its abundance. There are many places that you can visit in Davao. Historical places like their churches and tourist spots. Davao City is the largest city located on the island of Mindanao in the Philippines. It is also one of the Philippines' most progressive cities. Its international airport and seaports are among the busiest cargo hubs in the southern part of the Philippines. Davao City is also one of several cities in the Philippines that are independent of any province. The city serves as the regional center for Davao Region (Region XI). It has a population of 1,363,330 in 2007 census and is named by the Foreign Direct Investment Magazine as the 10th "Asian City of the Future". In recent years, Davao City has emerged as the business, investment and tourism hub for the entire southern Philippines. The city boasts of some of the finest beaches and mountain resorts in the country and its proximity to the Philippines’ most captivating diving spots as well as its highest peak, Mount Apo. As what I read on the web Davao City is approximately 588 statute miles southeast of Manila. Traveling by sea, its location from Manila and Cebu is 971 and 593 nautical miles (1,098 km) respectively. Presently, built-up areas used for residential, institutional, commercial, and industrial purposes represent about 10% of the total land area. Under the approved land use plan built-up and settlement area will cover 15% of the total area while agricultural will be maximized with 67.19%. The remaining 17.68 will be devoted to forestry and conservation. The information was based on islandsproperties and it’s quite impressive for us Davawenos. Davao City is a melting pot of various cultures. Yearly, population of the city grows as immigrants from different parts of the country take advantage of the Davao’s industry opportunities. As what I mentioned many different cultures live in Davao City and as they live here they learn to adopt and made remarkable things here in Davao. As what I’ve also search the brief local historian of Davao state that the word davao came from the phonetic blending of the word of three Bagobo subgroups when referring to Davao River, an important waterway which empties itself into Davao Gulf near the city. The aboriginal Obos who live in the hinterlands of the region called the river, Davoh; the Clatta or Guiangans called it Duhwow, or Davau, and the Tagabawa Bagobos, Dabu. To the Obos, the word davoh also means a place "beyond the high grounds", alluding to the settlements located at the mouth of Davao River which were surrounded by high rolling hills. When asked where they were going, the usual reply is davoh, while pointing towards the direction of the town. Duhwow also refers to a trading settlement where they barter their forest goods in exchange for salt or other commodities. It’s a quite difficult terms but that is how the word Davao came from.

            The culture of Davao city is also a remarkable feast that is celebrated every year. One of the most popular festivals here in Davao is called Kadayawan. It is a celebration of Good Harvest! This globally famous festival is a weeklong celebration and thanksgiving for nature’s bountiful harvest. Kadayawan Festival is being celebrated every 3rd Week of August. A celebration of the plentiful harvests of fruits and orchids during the season.Kadayawan is derived from the prehistoric word “madayaw,” a warm and friendly greeting also used to explain a thing that is valuable, superior, beautiful, good, or profitable, “Kadayawan” in Mandaya means anything that brings fortune, a celebration of life, a thanksgiving for the gifts of nature, the wealth of culture, the bounties of harvest and serenity of living. Ethnic tribes around Mt. Apo usually gathered during the harvest-time when they had a bountiful harvest to give thanks to their gods particularly the all-powerful Bathala (supreme God). According to legend, the occasion is noticeable by happiness, singing, and dancing, as well as offerings to their divine protectors. T he festival is celebrated in the month of August with floats of fresh flowers and fruits, and indak-indaksakadalanan or street dancing in colorful costumes. A variety of tribes parade the streets with their tribal costumes and jewelry. The city of Davao comes alive every year in August when it holds it yearly harvest festival. The streets are adorned with local fruit & vegetables while people hold street dances with abandon for four days. The harbour is the venue for native & power boat races. Everybody fights for seats to watch the Horse Fighting wherein stallions fight each other over the rights to mate with a mare. The crowd is sometimes tracked by the horses if they get too close. The last day the street is full of costumed dancers dancing to the local beat & decorated floats with glamorous Mindanao girls as eye candy. It's a time of fun & abandon. The festivity is not complete without the Bya'NengngKadayawan or the Miss Kadayawan beauty contest. There is also the horse fight, a tribal animal show similar to the bullfight in Spain. 

            Talking about economy in Davao City we can really say that it has a progressive way of living and of course the flow of Business marketing helps to improve and sustain the needs of Filipino people and of course the foreign investors who tend to develop business here. Tourist helps us to earn a big amount of money and also could help introducing our great City to different places outside the country. People have developed their minds in business and by the help of the government.  Davao City is the leading City and heart of Mindanao. It is a "Crown Jewel" of Mindanao in terms of economic activity. It is the most important economy in the island and the third most important urban center in the Philippines. Like the rest of the country, Davao City operates on an economic system that is market-oriented, although pricing mechanisms remain regulated in a few sectors particularly on basic products to protect consumers. The competitiveness of the market has been enhanced through the dismantling of protection for newborn industries and the breakdown of industries with monopolistic or association tendencies. Davao City shows what they’ve got in terms of building business and competing to different markets. As what I mentioned above Davao City doesn’t only invest business market inside Mindanao but also on the international front, the economy has been opened to global competition, through a tax, private investments has Davao City's economy is steadily growing in the last two decades. Many people as primary market base, the city is helpful to business as evidenced by the presence of the country's top companies. The flow of investment in the City has become remarkable in last few years as what I observed. Exporting in the city is now a billion dollar industry with a growing position market for its products.  As what I know the stable banana and flourishing pineapple industries are among the country's leading export commodities. A net exporter since 1987, Davao City largely contributed in making the Philippines as the world's top exporter of papaya, mangos teen, and even flowers. The productive linkages between established businesses and Davao City community reinforced the competitive quality of life in a city that has consistently maintained single digit price rate since 1993. Along with flourishing investments and exports, the low price rate serve as concrete illustration of the remarkable gains from Davao City's sustained competitiveness nurtured by high level of responsiveness of the local government which put priority focus in facilitating business-friendly initiatives and in ensuring a peaceful and prosperous environment.

            The economy in Davao City is really admirable even I see it for the past four years that I was able to experience the life of living here. The trading or the export earnings of city’s merchandise is quite good. As I search in the web Banana remains as the No. 1 dollar earner for both the city and the region. Other traded commodities include coconut oil, rubber, desiccated coconut and pineapple including fresh and canned. Top import commodities include mineral fuels/mineral oils, fertilizers, cereals, miscellaneous chemical products and plastics. Also the tourism of the City is getting high and it continues to attract more tourists. Some of the foreign travelers, local citizens, and balikbayan or overseas Filipino workers were mostly come for business purposes. The Agriculture also gain big help for the people and remain as the big portion of the City’s agricultural area. Other major commodities include coconut, banana, durian, pineapple, pomelo and coffee. The fishery production in Davao also made a remarkable job. Davao Gulf is the city’s major fishing ground. It is a home for many marine biodiversities, abundant in various fishes such as yellow fin tuna, anchovy, herring, and numerous marine products. Livestock and Poultry have also the big role in helping the City’s economy. The grounds of the City also provide a good environment for raising livestock and other animals. As we can see there are many different branches of Financial Institution which also serve as a help for the organization here in Davao. There are many different kinds of institutions including those branches of domestic and foreign banks, savings or loans associations and financing companies and lending institutions. All leading banks in the country have more than one branch in the city with some banks operating seven days a week to ensure that clients are served seamlessly. Moreover, electronic banking is readily available and accessible as well. The infrastructure of the City also made an extraordinary help like the Road Network and Transportation which has become helpful to many people the airport and seaports and most especially the Water and Power Supply which is the most significant needs of each one of us.

            Problems also occur in the City we cannot stop it or predict things that might happen like the naturals calamities. I had already experience the terrible affect of it. Especially in our school, it is known as University of Swimming Poll because every time it will rain you will experience the worst thing that will happen to you. It’s not only happening to our school but also to the different places in the City. "The problem has become insurmountable because of climate change and urbanization. The city’s drainage canals can no longer accommodate the large volume of rain brought by climate change in recent years. The situation is compounded in low-lying areas during high tide. Urbanization has increased both new construction and the volume of solid waste in the city and these have worsened the condition of the city’s drainage systems. One also of the cause of this problem is we people who become too much irresponsible in our obligation as a citizen in our country. One also of the problem that gives much headache to us is the squatters who live under the bridges in the City. We can’t blame them totally but the government should take action for that. I know they also don’t want to live there but we can’t help it. It’s a sad thing to imagine but facing reality will help awakening our mind. We can’t also deny the fact that there is some area in the City that needs to provide a better transportation. Many parts of the City don’t given much the attention especially those in the far places like the Manobo tribes living in the mountains and valleys. The Lacks of facilities like proper schools and centers. People sometimes become selfish and only thinking about their own goods. One also of the problem that has to be given an attention is the pesticide spraying. As we have seen we have bounty of fresh fruits and vegetables in the market but it brings bad effect in our health. We don’t know much about it but it may be really too dangerous for us. As what I’ve read a while ago many people have been affected by those diseases by using pesticide.

             As a citizen in the City we should take action of those mentioned above problems. Thinking like an entrepreneur may really help.Entrepreneurship describes the establishment of new organization or the revitalization of mature organization  in response to a perceived business opportunity. A new business is sometimes referred to as a start up company. In recent years, the term has been extended to include social and political forms of entrepreneurial activity. Entrepreneurship within an existing firm or large organization has been referred to as intra-preneurship  and may include corporate ventures where large entities spin off subsidiary organizations. Thinking solutions and choosing wise decision in life is an impressive thing to do. Let’s our self develop a business conference to propel economic and tourism development in the City. It is for the Public and Private Sectors to raise critical issues and recommendations confronting the city through formulations of resolutions. Investments and opportunities in agriculture, energy, information and communications technology, tourism, and wholesale and retail will continue to drive and boost the economic growth of Davao Region. Let’s invest our own business that will help the Filipino achieve and increase the economy of the Region. Don’t let other foreign investment have more power in investing business because they are only the one who is benefiting our own City. Let us have the power to lead our own country for good. The government should also take action and stop corrupting the money of the Filipino people. Davao City has a good way of training people and has the good leader who aims to protect his fellow mean. Let’s help each other and build the best future for us.

(Techno 3 idiots)

            I have already watched many movies whether love story, comedy or horror but one movie that marks in my mind and it was the 3 idiots. I think everyone of us knows about it and can relate the plot of the story especially the student like us. The situations really happen in reality terror teachers, intelligent student and of course idiots.  I’ll try to recall what happen in the movie because I have seen it on the past two years I think. I've watched the movie together with my friends in our personal computer. It is a nice story that will bring lessons and teaches us to be a good student who doesn't give up in spite of all the circumstances that we can encounter as we live. One of the most affected people in this movie is mostly the engineering students who try to do their best just to have the title as an engineer.

 College life is one of the hardest part to achieve as a person who dreamed to have a better life in the future. This is the part where we struggle too hard just to do all the requirements in the school. From quizzes, assignments, projects and so on. College life is not an easy thing as what others are thinking. It is the part we’re we get stressed, depressed, sad, happy and all the emotions that you can experience will be found in college life and it could really happen to anyone. You will found yourself in tip of the mountain trying so hard to be a good rule model of the youth like us. They said before you reach your goal you’ll need to know first the word hardship because this is we’re all begin. The ideal college lifestyle dissipates quickly once the reality is reached. Many young adults imagine vivid pictures of what college might be like for them. However, once these young adults mature into independent men and women, and enter into the school of their choice, they soon realize the reality of the college lifestyle. They must learn to adapt to their new surroundings as quickly as possible to accomplish the sought after degrees. Students come to the realization that life is not as easy as they might hope for. Many young adults seem to believe that college life is filled with parties and typically a laid-back lifestyle. These students believe that, much like high school, classes will be taken during the day and filled with all their friends. They imagine a lifestyle with no other worries besides an occasional essay or lab. It is often said that college is the greatest time of one’s life; many high school students believe this and look forward to it. Many students enter college expecting good times, knowledge, friendships, and a new sense of direction. They soon find out that college comes with challenges and struggles because of the great demands and expectations that are put on the importance of education. College students experience a great deal of stress, especially when they are trying to balance a full time job, raise children, and have a social life. The demands of doing many different things with very little time can become overwhelming. The daily tasks of working and meeting the demands of job obligation can leave a college student exhausted. There are a limited number of students who work full time jobs and attend college full time. Others still work late and get up in the wee hours of the morning trying to fit all of the required tasks of school and work into one day. Students often find themselves more exhausted when they are trying to schedule tasks, because there just does not seem to be enough time in one day. Putting in long hours and worrying about class schedules adds stress to a student life.

           Back in the 3 idiots movie Farhan Qureshi (R. Madhavan), Raju Rastogi (Sharman Joshi), and Rancchoddas "Rancho" Shyamaldas Chanchad (Aamir Khan) are three engineering students who share a room in a hostel at the Imperial College of Engineering, one of the best colleges in Indi where many intelligent students prefer to study. While Farhan and Raju are average students from uncertain backgrounds, Rancho is from a rich family. Farhan wants to become a wildlife photographer, but has joined engineering college to fulfill his father's wish. Well many of us student relate to this lind of situation that was pushes themselves to study courses they don’t like because they love too much their parents and afraid to disobey them. Raju on the other hand wants to uplift his family fortunes. Rancho is a wealthy genius who studies for the absolute joy of it. However, Rancho's passion is for knowledge and taking apart and building machines rather than the conventional obsession of the other students with exam ranks. With his different attitude Rancho experiences the anger of dean of college, Professor Viru Sahastrabudhhe (ViruS) (Boman Irani). Of course in the movie there is a bad character and it is their teacher. We encounter terror teachers as we go to college life, their role is to have as suffer but those entire thing that they've done is all for our good. Rancho annoys his lecturers by giving creative and personal answers, and confronts ViruS after fellow student Joy Lobo hangs himself in his dormitory room. I guess you have some issues in the campus or any schools of some scary story of suicidal of a student. It usually happens when a student is over depressed and overcome many disappointments in life and of course doing that sin is a bad idea for us. It is natural to encounter difficult challenges but let’s just take it as a challenge and just do our best to fulfill our duty as a student. Joy had requested an extension on his major project on compassionate grounds his father had suffered a stroke but ViruS refused, saying that he himself was completely unaffected by his own son's accidental death after being hit by a train. Rancho criticizes the rat race, dog-eat-dog, mindless rote learning mentality of the institution, blaming it for Lobo's death. Many had become sad to what happen of their fellow student which made them angry and blame it to their teacher Virus. It is certainly true that many teachers become too harsh of their student but doing that such thing is not a good idea it’s like pushing students to hate that kind of character or to dislike them and I know some teachers who have a hard characteristic towards the student. One also of the character of the movie is Chatur Ramalingam or "Silencer", (Omi Vaidya) who sees a high rank at the prestigious college as his ticket to higher social status, corporate power, and therefore wealth. Chatur conforms to the expectations of the system. Rancho humiliates Chatur, who is awarded the honor of making a speech at an award ceremony, by substituting vulgarities into the text, which has been written by the librarian. As expected, Chatur mindlessly memorizes the speech, without noticing that anything is a miss, partly helped by his lack of knowledge on Hindi. His speech becomes the laughing stock of the audience, annoying the authorities in the process. I know some students who just become an honor because he or she only memorizes all of activities in the school which is a bad idea. Memorizing something or all of the stuff activities in school is not good for us student we also have to understand those things that has been teaches us. By that way we will know and might be able to stand up by his own knowledgeable way.

            To all the things that happen to them they have realized something that made them embrace the reality of being true to themselves. After all they will be the one who will suffer if they continue. The experience has changed Farhan and Raju, and they adopt Rancho's outlook. Farhan decides to pursue his love of photography, while Raju takes an unexpected approach for an interview for a corporate job. He attends in plaster and a wheelchair and gives a series of non-conformal and frank answers. However, ViruS is insensitive and promises to make the final exam as hard as possible so that Raju is unable to graduate. Pia hears him and angrily confronts him, and when ViruS gives the same ruthless reply he gives to his students, she denounces him in the same way that Rancho did over the suicide of Lobo. Pia reveals that Viru's son and her brother was not killed in an accident but committed suicide in front of a train and left a letter because ViruS had forced him to pursue a career in engineering over his love for literature; ViruS always mentioned that he unsympathetically failed his son on the ICE entrance exams over and over to every new intake of ICE students. I know parents want the best thing for us because they tend to have the expectation they want from their children but parents should not force their children because it might be the reason why their children take suicide. I like the charcter of  Rancchordas Shyamaldas Chanchard also known as Rancho (Amir Khan) because he opened the eyes of his dear friends to the reality and made a weak up call to their parents to accept the things that their child wants. The story is really nice that I almost cry it is really amazing and thumbs for all the producers and writers of the movie. ALL IS WELL!!

Paper 1 (techno)

               Going to different places is indeed an exciting adventure for me. It makes me so refreshing to discover new spots especially outside the country. One of my dream places that I want to visit is in South Korea, I want to see those beautiful trees they have especially the cherry blossom. But since I am still a student all I need to do is to finish my studies and do my duty as well. This coming September we will having our Field Trip in Manila, since it’s in our curriculum to have the subject which is consist of three units.

                Suppose to be we should get the subject last semester but unfortunately we weren’t able to grab it because of some instances and decided to have it this semester. As what I remember we have our very first meeting last semester. We were able to discuss the different Filed Trip Seminar Models as our option. These are the following FTS model:

Model A = 1 Major Fieldtrip (outside Mindanao) + 1 minor fieldtrip (Mindanao) + 1 seminar (national) + 2 hrs. Interpersonal skills;

Model B = 1 Major Fieldtrip (outside Mindanao) + 2 minor fieldtrip (Mindanao) + 2 seminars (8hrs) (Mindanao) + 2 hrs. Interpersonal skills and

Model C = 3 Minor fieldtrips (Mindanao) + 4 seminars (16hrs) (Mindanao) + 2hrs Interpersonal skills.

                We have voted and were given those term papers to be given by our parents which have the final decision to vote on which model they prefer. But for me I will choose model A. Indeed it’s a little bit expensive but I think we can afford it. I know some of my classmates are having problems financially but I know they can do it. There are ways to find money because money is anywhere you can find it depending on how you would you use your ability and to do some ways to earn money. You can sell foods in the school and have part time job. Those simple things may help you it is just on how wise you are in facing them.  It is a once a lifetime experience with your friends and classmates and of course I will treasure those moments. Having with your friends is a joyful thing that you cannot explain if there with you. You will discover their different attitudes that you didn’t notice when you’re still together and you will be just surprise because they have that unique ability that only them can do. A funny little thing could happen, especially when you’re together within a long week.

                I’m really excited for our field trip I’m already thinking of the things that I could do. Since the majority has decided to choose model A which has one major Field Trip outside Mindanao which they prefer in Manila and has one minor field trip in Mindanao I forgot where specifically but I think near in Davao. By now we are discussing on distributing money every month so that it would not be hard for us to give full payment. For this month of June 27, 2014 we are task to pay seven thousand pesos for our plane ticket. As of now we are finding promos so that we can save money. Seven Thousand pesos is for back and forth plane travel since we will stay in Manila for five days. For those five days we will have different activity and different company to visit which are related with our course field. Choosing Model A is a little bit complicate if we talk about money because not all of us can afford the budget. But choosing Manila to be our major Field Trip will give an advantage to us student since in Manila big and popular Companies are in there. Visiting those Companies will help us to have learning’s or will give knowledge that we didn’t know and might give as the idea. Experiencing different things will really help you it’s like encountering different problems in life. As you encounter those different situations you will know more on how to handle things properly It is like molding you to became a new person who is more determine to do things rightly and just.

                For now I am finding people who are good hearted person that is willing to give help by donating money by way of solicitation. Having solicitation may really help especially to those have many relatives that could help them. Like me I have only few friends here in my current place in here in NCCC Village Bajada. For four years of living here I can only count those people who know my name that’s why I have the problem of whose are where would I give this solicitation letter. Last Sunday June 22, 2014 I went to Santa Cruz Davao Del Sur and visit my brother and my few relatives there. For two days of staying in Santa Cruz I enjoyed those days with chitchatting my brother and play with my nieces. Then I told my cousins to help me regarding with my expenses so I decided to give some solicitation letter to her. It doesn’t matter how big or small they might give as long as they tend to help.

                For this coming September I will list all the things that should be done and the places that I want to go especially in Mall of Asia, divisoria and most especially in Enchanted Kingdom. I will take the challenge in “Ride all you can”. It would be so great and will definitely precious moments with my friends. Having in different places will let you learn something. Experiencing adventure is a worth thing to have. We are so excited we just can’t hide it. Some of our professors will go with us and I think Sir Pabilona and our boss Sir Gamboa will be one of our guidance in travelling to Manila. Good Luck and God Bless to us.

Meeting 3 (Reflection FTS)

                It was Wednesday June 25, 2014 and we had our third meeting for field Trip and Seminars. It was held in IC Lab 2 at exactly 2:00 in the afternoon. Almost of us are present during our meeting and cooperate regarding with the expenses for our field trip. It was mentioned that we have some difficulties regarding with our papers for approval of the president and we hope that it will be done nicely and clearly with the cooperation of my fellow classmates. It was also discussed about our concept paper for Y4iT. It is consist of three members of the group we are task to think a unique ideas that may be accepted for Y4iT competition. As of now I and my fellow group mates are working for our proposal to our professor. I hope it will be fine and successful (cross fingers).

This device will let you know the proper rules and guides that need to be follow in the hotel. There will be a voice coming out from the computer, you can ask anything that you want to know about the history of the said hotel and it will let you know if there is a person coming to your room and also to notify you that the food will be delivered in your room.

Description:               
 Calls are now really important especially for the people who are in a working carrier. The ability of this technology is that it able to detect calls but it is only applicable when you are in the shower. It is a built in device that you can only see in the shower.  The person who will use this will only push the button when it rings and even when you’re in the bath you can still answer the call whenever you need to. 
 Number 3: SwipeMe

Description:               
 For easy going and to save time especially when you’re in hurry you can automatically pay the bills inside your room. It is applicable only for credit cards, there will be a small screen and you can inquire your balance and then swipe your cards to pay, for insurance there will be a receipt that will serve as proof that you already paid the bills.

                 We know that fast food is such a busy environment for the employers who are working to serve our needs. Let’s help them to reduce the busyness for their daily work. The ability of this technology is that it able the customers to choose their order by just pressing the numbers and to pay automatically by putting the money in the machine. It will scan the money inside and automatically give you the change if you have any. The machine is composed of numbers and each numbers has the corresponding foods and drinks. The total amount of the expenses will automatically be computed and will release a receipt but still the food will be delivered manually.

Number 2: CholesterolDetech

Description:

                Different people have different problems regarding with their health. As we eat there are prone that we can eat foods that contains too much cholesterol. So I came up to this idea to help us choose foods to avoid our self from sickness. It is like a thermometer that has a red button. All you have to do is to put that thermometer in the food that you order within 1 minute. If you push the red button it will automatically calculate the cholesterol in the food that you’re eating.

Number 3: Burger Machine

Description:

                We have different taste of food especially in burgers. So this idea was a burger machine that will able to help us choose patties in different style. There will be buttons with corresponding potties and different kinds of sauce. You can able to customize your burger and if you’re done then you can eat you’re customize burger.

INNOVATION (DAVAO CITY)

Number 1: Plastic Changer

 Description:

                Everywhere you can see money changer in malls, market and etc. since we have big deals with the plastic bottles that we can see in every place that we encounter. Why should we save garbage for goods and earn instant money from it. The machine has ability to accept plastic bottles and when you’re able to put it in the machine it will automatically count those bottles and give you the corresponding amount of money. In that way you can help to maintain cleanliness in our environment.

                When people travel long way they prefer to ride bus or van and as they travel it is a common thing that they can fall asleep. There are instances that they can pass their way home without knowing. So I came to this idea to have a device that can control the bus or van whenever or wherever you want. It will also have a wake up alarm for you to wake up. By this you can no longer be worried if you fall asleep. No hustle and easy to use, you just have to set the time and the place that you want to stop.

Description:

                Many people in Davao City are getting problem regarding with their memory like me. I’m at the young age but I had already issues in forgetting things if where did I put it especially in our houses. This device has the ability to detect things that has been forgotten. The only thing that you need to do is to take picture of it and if in case it was lost then it will be easy for you because you only need to turn it on and automatically it will produce a light and will guide you to the specific place that you have left.

Techno 1 (Meeting 2b Reflection)

  It was Tuesday June 09, 2014 I’m in a hurry because my class is 8:00 in the morning and I wake up 7:00 am. I’m a kind of person that will take twenty minutes in eating breakfast twenty minutes in taking a bath and thirty minutes in dressing up that’s little bit worst attitude to me and I’m trying to adjust myself.  I know I will be late and for sure I will sing in front of my classmate but I’m afraid because my beautiful voice might discover but nah I’m just kidding it was just in my dream! Since I knew I would sing a song I’m already thinking of a tone that would fit to the capacity of my voice. It is entitled Arms by Christina Perri a love song that describe somebody being reluctant in a relationship, often backing out of commitment for fear of being hurt. Not knowing the capacity of the person's love, trust and patience. 

             Being undecided about whether one will drown in indecision and lose the loved one or whether she can overcome her fear of commitment or getting hurt. I just really love the song, the lyrics and the message that wants it to deliver for everyone who been through rough things of being in love. Sir Gamboa prepared a twist for the virgins and non virgins and it was connecting nine dots with just four lines. Obviously it was called “9dots”, well it’s a complicated quiz and you may think that it might so easy but actually it tested our analytical thinking and how fast our imagination goes through. It is simple a logic but will really teach you an important moral lesson that could apply our simple daily living. At first I was just like “okay challenge accepted how easy that was” and when Sir Gamboa called my classmate to answer the problem we have almost the same answer and unfortunately it was wrong. Then I wonder how I could be wronged, because I did follow the instruction. Then as what I remembered three of my classmate already answered the quiz and one of my classmate volunteered to answer and yes he did. Since he is a repeater in the subject he obviously knew it. We have different answer to the given question and almost of my classmate got the correct answer.  At first I was really confuse of how could I fix the given activity and do some calculations in my own way but when Sir Gamboa explain to us the best solution to the problem it made me realize something important. He said that we should not limit our answer inside the nine dots because there are ways to find the best solution to the problem if we just try to believe and put trust to our self and not just to stick in a safety way in answering the problem. It is a way of letting everyone knew that life doesn’t have always in comfort area sometimes we should let our self discover new things.

            From the said activity I was able to learn not only in the class but also gain a moral lesson that we could apply as a strategy in living our life. A simple problem that you think would be so easy but will really teach you a very good message. I personally believe that we people will prefer to live in a comfort zone as we use to. People want to enjoy easy life and stay with the things that they thought would be the best way to them. But what are those things they have fear to face if they knew there will be more better ways if they stay out far away to the place they thought would be good for them. People afraid to fall if they try to escape their comfort zone and may think they won’t succeed if they try new things. Sometimes we people build the minds of being in the negative side. Examples for the things that we don’t have been try but our minds has already give up, those are the things that people should change and go on with the positive vibes. We should not be afraid and try new things. Don’t let our self imprisoned to the fairs in our heart. Let’s fight those negative vibes that made a lot of people stop in trying.
            Challenge has become part of our life everywhere we go we encounter different kinds of people and different kinds of situation that we don’t know which way we should go. But let’s try to change for good and try to change the olds things that we usually do because we don’t know what those better things are for us if we just know how to accept and consider.
            Limiting our self is a good attitude but let’s put in our mind that trying something new and being considerate might have the possibility to help us achieve and discover that there is hope. Even how simple or complicated things go through there will be an option on which you would choose. Having decisions is one of the hardest part in living to the reality of life. It’s like you’re driving your own life and fighting for the right things against to the failure we made in the past. Let’s try and try until we learn to accept and be positive in our minds and in our thoughts.
 When I came inside in the room I thought I have mistaken because were too many and I was shocked. My classmate told me it was because of the other section that supposed to have class in Saturday. Well the class has started and many came late and they still have to sing as a punishment. Sir Gamboa trained as to be a responsible students like wearing proper uniform and having discipline in managing our time so that no one will be late for the next meeting. Technopreneurship 1 is subject were it helps to develop our ability in thinking and enhancing our minds to form new ideas regards with technology.

Techno (Meeting 2 Reflection)

We meet again for another meeting and a lot of things happen. It was Tuesday June 17, 2014 and unfortunately I came late to the class. As a punishment I sang in front of my classmate it was little bit embarrassing because my voice is so nice that would not hear it again. A funny thing to experience at least I was able to perform with all the confident that I have. Many of us came late and I thought I was only the one but it was only my hallucination. After I preferred to sing I set together with my closest friend which is also late. I was just a little bit shocked because I don’t expect that we the students under Sir Gamboa are too many and my classmate told me that we were able to merge to the other section since they’re schedule will be on Saturday June 21, 2014. For the students who were able to absent to the last meeting they were ask to stand in front of us to explain why they did not able to attend the class. Of course some of them do not know that it’s okay to merge with the Tuesday class and some of them are still virgins. They did not yet know the policy, one by one they were able to talk and explain to Sir Gamboa they’re reason. I think half of my classmate was able to stand in front.

            After that we ask to answer the said activity it was connecting nine dots with just four strokes of lines. It was a simple problem but a complicated one. We were able to use our intellectual skills in terms of logic and comprehension in thinking fast. We are given fifteen minutes think if I’m not mistaken. Then after that Sir Gamboa ask to answer the problem and at first no one get the correct answer until there is a old student of Sir Gamboa who was able to experience or have already encounter that kind of activity and he did answer it really fast. We have different answer and different idea on how to connect it but there’s only one thing to answer that one. From that said activity we able to learn even to the simple problem there is a big moral lesson that you can learn. That never limit yourself to the things that you thought would be the end because by that there might be more interesting that may help you guide through the easy way. We can apply it in our daily living that if you think there are ways or options to go on then try those ways who knows it might be the big opportunity for you to succeed. Never let yourself fail because you afraid to try. Be the best as long as you can. Never lose hope because GOD never forgets us. He will never let you give a challenge if he knows you wouldn’t make it through the end. He will always guide us to the right way and it only up to us on how we decide. Making decision is a hard thing to do, you may sacrifice thing in order for you to reach your goal or may choose the wrong way. But still people fails and it doesn’t mean we can’t do it again. Try and try until we learn and succeed.

            After having the activity Sir Gamboa discussed the lessons pertaining to Technopreneurship. It was a little hard for me to hear because I’m right at the air conditioner and it was really noisy. I just asked my classmate what did Sir Gamboa is saying. Technopreneurship it is a simple entrepreneurship in a technology intensive context. Technopreneurs distinguishes themselves through their ability to accumulate and manage knowledge, as well as their ability to mobilized resources to achieve a specified business or social goal. It is a process of merging technology prowess and entrepreneurial talent and skills. It is someone who perceives an opportunity and creates an organization to pursue it. A person who undertakes risks that has the chance of profit. Entrepreneurship is a way of thinking and acting that is opportunity obsessed, holistic approach and leadership balanced for the purpose of wealth creation. Searches for change , responds to it, and exploits it as an opportunity. Innovation is the specific tool of entrepreneurs, the means by which they exploits change as an opportunity for a different business or a different service. Entrepreneurship pursuit of opportunity without regard to the resources currently under one’s control. If you want to become an entrepreneur, you must be a business minded person and your only mission is to start and own up your business. On the other hand, technopreneurship is the same as entrepreneurship. The only thing to consider is the technology that technopreneurs are equipped. There businesses are always in the field of technology. Some technopreneurs are always persistent of doing their own technology just to sell their ideas to different companies or establishments that needs them. Being a technoperneur you need to have discipline to yourself and balance you mind through different things that you may encounter. Maybe someday one of my classmates will become a successful enterepeneur who knows. We have different life to settle and different plan from GOD. We may not know it but I know it will be good for us. It may not be easy as what we expect but by all the courage and challenges we go through there is still hope. Sir Gamboa explains us all about technopreneurship, people have different mindset in terms about technopreneurship. There are usual mindset and alternative mindset. To our dear parents they have the usual mindset that they will sent their children to the school and after graduating they should find a good job that has big compensation. It is a usual mindset of our parents but we all knows that finding job is such a challenging part as we live in the real world of people. Many people compete just to find a better job it is like selling yourself to be presentable and intelligent just to impress them.

            Nowadays finding job is really difficult, yes you may get a job but the only problem is that the compensation that you will receive is just too small to support yourself how much more if you’re married and has the family to sustained. It would be very difficult that’s why many people choose to go outside the country to earn a big amount of money. They intend to sacrifice their love ones because they love them and they don’t want their family to suffer in poverty. Yes we did study and do our duty as a student but it would not be easy as parents tend to think about us. Our parents did a lot of hardship in terms of working so hard just to let their children go to school but they have put in their minds that things would not be working as we want it. It needs time, patience and effort. Like me I am a working student who prefers to leave my parents in Bohol. So here I am trying to do things properly even if things go wrong and even if how rough my life was meant to be. I know life would not be easy as what we intend to expect but let’s just have faith and believe in our self that we can do this. It is just a test on how strong we are in facing problems like this. My duty now is to become a good student who will take responsibilities. I may not know what the GOD has planned for me all I know id that He will never leave me good times and in bad times. There are different kinds of parents the first type parents are parents who are really forceful in their children’s pursuit of first class professions doctors or lawyers. They do not hide their expectations. They pressure the children to do well in school and unless results are stellar, they are punished. They need their children to be the best in their community to preserve their name and reputation. That was more important than the children’s happiness or satisfaction. No, their excuses are always the same: ‘I know what’s best of you and that is to be a doctor or a lawyer and earn lots of money.’ And gradually, this teaches the children to be competitive in their approach to life, which is detrimental to their abilities to find peace and work cooperatively in the future. The second type parents are slightly less forceful. These are the parents who are usually more exposed to the Western world than the first type parents. They want their children to be happy, or that’s what they say. They push instead of force their children to achieve high standards. And when the times come for the children to go for universities, they let them choose – or so they think. If the child chooses something in the first class or second class professions, they would be more than happy to support him emotionally and financially.

 However, if the child chooses something in the third class profession, they will tell the child to think again. To the second type parents, any third class profession that the child chooses is not the profession that the child really wants. They don’t express their expectations out clearly, but in their head they are quite similar to the first type parents. The only difference is their approach towards the child. While the first type parent will get it out of their child by force, the second type parent will talk it out of child by subtle manipulation. When accused to force their child into studying first or second class professions, they will deny it. Now, the last type of parents are the ones who allow their children to do anything they like, regardless of whether it is a first class, second class, or third class profession. To the typical Asian mindset, these kinds of parent are bad parents because they are not thinking about their children’s future welfare. But to the third type parent, as long as their children are raised up to think ethically, they have done their job well. What the child does when he grows up is not the parents’ choice. The child’s life does not say anything about the parents. All they want is for their children to be happy and satisfied with their jobs. And to do that, they as parents will support the children all the way in the children’s pursuit for happiness. Sadly, most Asian parents nowadays are still in the first and second categories. I believe it to be a fact based on my personal experience but there is nothing I can do unless the parents themselves start to change. By that we all know that parents just want what is the best for us in the near future.

            I like the way parents have disciplined as, we can see it by the hardship they fulfill just to make us send in the school. But there is also alternative mindset that should be in the minds of many people. Alternative mindset is letting our self see the reality that after a student graduate in a specified school they will have a big responsibility that should have been given a priority. It is usual to Filipino to say “Practical na ta karun” but the question is did we really help our own country in developing and molding through a better country? Yes, we study here in Philippines but many of us after the graduation go to the other palaces outside the country and who’s the one was achieving it was the other country not us. Our teachers did the hard work to teach students and molding students to learn and maybe we are the key who will help in achieving our country. There’s a saying that “Kabataan ang Pag asa ng bayan” but unfortunately it was not happening. Your own country developed you to become a better person but the one who benefited are the Americans as they prefer to work abroad. It is a wakeup call to everyone to see the problem and the mistakes that we almost did.

            It is not a bad thing to choose decisions for our own good, there’s no one who wants to suffer in poverty. All of us have the goal to reach our dream but let’s think of the future if we try to help our own country innovate technology and apply it in our daily living. We can help and we can share the talent that we have. We can be the start of our success by using the ability to innovate and build ideas that can be use in the near future.

            There are different kinds of alternative mindset first is “You’re Never old to try Something new".It is good thing if we try to help our own country or city to develop new things like technology. Simple ideas may bring big success to our people and to the coming fellow men. Share and recycle materials that can be use in building simple gadgets that might change our whole life. Life is simple and surprising we may not know that from the small invention it will become the most powerful and helpful thing to us people.

                       From the said activity we were able to know the things that will be good for us as we try to understand things we use to absorb it and make things clear in mind. There are also small issues that we do not want or we least like. From all the activities we've been through I don’t like parents usual mindset for their children they think that life would be that so easy if they see their children already graduated. It’s not a bad thing to think positive maybe we could make things so fast and find a job as we try it to but things like this is very hard. At first you will encounter difficulties in different ways of how GOD testing us. On how strong we are to not lost hope and keep on fighting until the end. Parents do love as much as our friend does. When I was little my mother used to tell me that someday I would understand everything and it always made me curious what secret sense did she and everyone else implied. But I could just guess and wait for the time when I'll be ready to understand this. And to be honest, I’m so close to start my adult life and I still don’t understand everything and sometimes I think that no one can completely do this. But, there are also a lot of things which I wish to never understand and to be again that girl who imagined that that was a secret code of a magic world of endless possibilities for adults. So, keeping to the point, I think that trying to protect us from real life some of parents can just overdo it and real truth just breaks into our world and crashes everything we used to believe in and then it completely changes everything, including us. So, in that way not all of us can easy take it and turn it into another life's experience. I consider, that also another important problem of relationship between parents and children is how hard is for parents to set the example for their children in our wild world. They teach us all the rules and Earth's laws? They tell us fairy tales, showing us that there's a clear line between good and evil. So, every child thinks that his parents are keeping all the rules and are perfect. But in fact, the parents, maybe, not really willing this, they have to do some things to survive in this horrible life with completely different social conditions and principles, and after all they have to keep their heads up, pretending that they're so right and excellent parents. I'm sure, it's really hard, but maybe, that's another problem of this relationship. That's why, I think that all the children have to accustom themselves that there aren't perfect people and if we really love our parents, we have to forgive them and to get to know all their sides, as we appreciate them in our lives. So, maybe, in that way, parents won't lie their children neither will their children in return. Of course, it will come with a time, but it will ruin some invisible wall between them and will make their love stronger and parent's life easier, because if the closest people as parents and their children pretend to each other, so there won't leave any frankness and honesty in our spoiled world. But let’s just try to understand our parents and let their dream for us come true, not an easy task but were surely be worth it. You also need to be determined in any job you have. Employers are looking for people who they can’t trust to be responsible, hard workers. If you can show them that you can efficiently get your work done, then you will be more likely to get promotions and raises. Businesses also want hardworking people to fill their management positions. Hard work is also essential in sports. This was my first year playing badminton and I loved it. I want to try out for the high school team next year, but since I’ve only played one year I need a lot of practice. I’ve had to work very hard to get to improve my skills. In conclusion, hard work is the only way to excel in life, especially in Sports, academics, and at a job. You can’t go through life assuming that people will do your work for you or that you’re not equipped to do something. You need to take charge and work hard. On the other hand sometimes things don’t happen as what we try to expect. Alternative mindset set as the goal to help our own city or our own country to improve and to stay away from poverty. We supposed to work here in the Philippines but the usual thing is that some of us prefer to go outside the country which is a practical thing if we talk about money. We try to discover and create something that could bring great thing to us. We could innovate things like creating technologies that would really help every people living on earth and by that we have the chance to achieve and bring victory to our country but things might get into complication. Sometimes the problem would be on how we can create those things in our mind if we know we don’t have the resources which is really a disappointing to every one of us. There is a saying “Clouds may come, but clouds must go, and they all have a silver lining. For behind each cloud you face, there is a sun shining behind it.” Everybody has heard these old sayings since they were kids and by now they are banalities. However, these sayings are constantly repeated throughout history from generation to generation because they hold truth and reasoning of reality in them. They aren’t just dull and bland statements, they offer insight to dilemmas that everyone will and must face. In life, everyone will face disappointment; it’s an inevitable fact of life. Some disappointments will be catastrophic while others will just be a minor mishap. Nonetheless, disappointments frequently have good side to them. Disappointment can lead to personal growth. When face with failure, most people tend to just give up and act wander around aimlessly. Others, on the contrary, seek out ways to improve and advance themselves so they have better chances for success in their near futures. Philanthropist and Microsoft Chairman Bill Gates once said “I am where I am today because I understood that discouragement and failure are two of the surest stepping stones to success and its fine to celebrate success but it is more important to heed the lessons of failure.” Gates is saying that he became successful not come despite his failures but because of his failures. With every entrepreneurship idea that was criticized and chastised by others, Bill Gates continued his path to achieve success, look at him now critics. Disappointments are an unavoidable part of life, but when an individual learns to cope with failure, that failure converts to success. Now and again the good side of disappointment takes a while to reveal its appearance. I personally experience a lot of difficulties in life and been through many discouragement. Now I’m hoping that things will be fine. I have a lot of dreams or goals for the future. Setting those goals is not a bad thing to do but sometimes will bring you to a big disappointment. Someone told me to stop thinking for the things that might happen in the near future because thinking those were only bring headache to you and expectation come through. He said to just go on and enjoy life whatever it takes weather it will be god or bad. And by that I was able to realize things in its own way of bringing reality in my mind. 

                    Regarding with the alternative mindset, there are also negative things that we can see in any angle. Yes we are trying to make our country better we go to school and encounter different people, attitude, and new environment. Us we go through our way we become fiercer and look things maturely. From being immature person we became fully matured person that knows how to handle difficult things. School helps us, and by that we tend to reach our goal in life. I have always been an average student in my class. This hurt my feelings and then I resolved that I shall study very hard and become a programmer or a web designer. I wanted to be placed among the first three at the end of each examination. If you want to succeed in life you need to be a hardworking person. From getting a job to excelling in school your need to make an effort. Also people will trust you more for this. As a result they will give you more leniencies. If you want something you need to be proactive and take the initiative. One area where this is particularly important is academics. If you work hard in school it will result in getting into the college you want and getting good grades. For example math doesn’t come naturally to me so I’ve had to study and practice to get better. Also if you get your assignments done then you will also have more free time. 

            Back on the topic of being a student, now I even don’t imagine the things that will happen to me if I would be able to graduate from college. People told me to study hard as long as I can now they are expecting me to graduate this year. Facing back to reality I know it would be really hard and it will take a lot of pressure. Teachers have the big rules in helping us students. They have the big rule in molding our self to become better person. Schools are one of the first places where kid’s behavior and future educational success is shape. Teachers are carriers of either positive or negative behavior toward students. The reason why the first years of school are so critical is because kids learn the base of their educational life. I believe that teachers must love their career in order for them to pass enthusiasm, to assists, and to provide a warm environment to the students. In my opinion teachers are the second mothers or fathers for the students because students spend a lot of time with their teachers. At the same time. I believe a real teacher becomes through many years of training and experiences in the field. The same way, fathers/mother is not born being great father/mother but as their experience with their kids expands they become experts on the field. We know that fathers/mothers look the best for their kids and one of their goals is to raise their kids so they can become professionals and pioneers for the society. Some of the mother’s role toward kids is to give them care, love, respect, lead, instruct and to try to form a safe and pleasant environment at their homes. I believe that a teacher is someone who becomes through many years of training and experiences in the field. I have not found a teacher who is an expert the first day of their profession. I believe that is urgent for everyone who is a teacher or is planning to become one to get prepare in the field the best they can. All teachers who get prepare will know how to set up rules in the classroom. Those kinds of teachers will probably have fewer problems in their classroom because they will be able to control the classroom. There are all types of teachers some are better than others. Through my life I had some professors who were well prepared and some who were not. I had some teachers who just came into the class and stared teaching. They did not get involve with the students. I rarely talked to them. Those teachers did not show any concern about what the students were feeling. One way for a teacher to get students involve in the classroom is to ask them questions. I remembered there were some students at the class that were shy including me who did not have the chance to get involved in the class or to participate. Therefore, I believe the way students act depends on the teacher’s attitude. That is why I strongly recommend all teachers to invite the student to participate in the class. It is very important that teachers encourage students because students will benefit from it sometimes, the teacher’s caring attitudes could have a long positive or negative influence on students. Student’s self-esteem could be lift up because it could create ambitions in their minds for future academic success. Sometimes, the behavior of students demonstrates that something is not going right. Therefore, I think teachers must pay attention to any suspicious sings that could bother the student. As teacher is our responsibility to find out what is going on with the students in the classroom. Kids deep in their hearts feel that teachers could help them but sometimes they are afraid to ask the teacher.

            But after all of that even if we have different thoughts whether we like it or not things happen for a

reason. Teachers maybe are sometimes difficult to understand but we know all of this will help us in the near future. Let’s just think positive and be determined to do new things.

2nd Meeting (FTS)

Well I'm still late usual, but still I was able to attend the second meeting of our FTS. It was discussed that the submission of the money will became by batch so that we can avail the promo in lowest price hopefully. It was held at the 5th floor, room 506. After that all the original receipt and COR was returned to the owner and many have agreed to the rules of paying for our plain tickets. I know some of us has the problem about the money and were just praying that it will be fix as soon as possible. We were hoping that things will be fine and everyone will cooperate as a team.

And this is it, this is really is it :D . As usual there are virgins in our class that made the first day of our meeting  became  funny. Another difficult things to do and new challenge for me. We discuss about the IDEASPACE that will let us think of new and fresh idea that will be useful in the near future. Brace myself! ALLELUIA!!

New Idea of innovation??!

And we've meet- (FTS)

Yesterday June 09, 2014 all of my classmates in FTS has gathered for a meeting with Sir Gamboa. We've discuss all the expenses and the things that we must need and prepared. It was mentioned that we should pay 7,000.00 within June 27, 2014 for our tickets of course that was a big amount for us so everybody was a bit worried but I think we must face all the consequences that might happen because as we enter in this subject it is expected that it will be expensive as we choose Manila as our destination. Well I'm still hoping that things will be fine and no one will quit.
We also had to go to the clinic og nag flashback tanang nahitabo sa amoa during medical!! Hell yeah! But still I'm excited :D
